Medusa's Throne

Medusa's Throne
(High Roller Records - 2012)

A new German band was formed in 2010 and now they are ready with a mini album with 4 songs to spread the word of their kind of thrash metal. They may be new to the market, but the result of their efforts are acceptable. Just a little problem that their record is only produced in a few CDs. The talent is present without doubt, and it starts with Primitive Beast, aggressive thrash metal with influence from the sound from 80's metal like Celtic Frost etc., and the opening song holds a good and steady hard rhythm. Tower Of The Elephant brings more strong and fast metal with a nice and power filled foundation. Medusa's Throne gives the listener a chance to explore Monumentor's gothic and dark view of the metal, good and melodic but not with many surprises. The last song is called Osiris, and it is darker and more black than the other songs. The album is rounded off with some whips as a forecast of what could be the next release from them. They have to start somewhere, and Monumentor seems to have found a steady ground to begin from.
