Special albums are always welcome, and what Monsterworks make on their new album Earth is a multifunction of different metal styles. Very competent vocals, and a music feel that surprises a great deal. Without any hesitation Monsterworks go from influence by Running Wild to Nickelback and on to heavy stuff like Saxon.
From Dust To Gravity marks their own style as a competent heavy metal making band where especially the vocals the screams makes you think of King Diamond. A more attacking style of metal comes in Late Heavy Bombardment where they really turn on the heavy metal fans expectations. The Last Universal Ancestor has a long soft guitar intro only to be replaced by a hard metal attack that follows the ways Running Wild play elegant metal. Also some genuine evil metal are present on the album, Oxygeneration, a song that could easily be made by Saxon, exactly in their veins. Bookended By Extinction is a storm without warning suddenly appearing in your head leaving no doubt about what Monsterworks are able to do with you. Aeon Of Man is again a different side of the English band, this time we get some soft experimental metal that proofs a genuine impression. Last song on the album is Earth, a long and soft round touched sound of the metal universe, suddenly with the influence of Nickelback mixed into the music, and then again drifting on to their own style once again.
A special but high class album, something for fans who wants different metal.
