A Sinner's Saint

A Sinner's Saint
(Frontiers Records - 2012)

With A Sinner's Saint the band Million Dollar Reload is presenting their 2nd album, the guys from Northern Ireland are obviously influenced by hard rock and sleaze. The opener Fight The System is an up-tempo rocker with an 80's edge and sleaze elements. This reminds me of Black Crows and L.A. Guns... The following Bullets In The Sky is AC/DC-influenced, even if they mix in some hard rock and a dash of sleaze. A song you can sing along the chorus the first time you hear it, so a good one to party to. On the other hand it's a quite typical tune which lacks some trademarks. With Broken they deliver a power full balladesque tune, and this tune sticks out. Singer Phil Conalane shows more variety, is more expressive. Broken is one of the highlights. Songs like Wicked are fun, but sound to familiar to ask for your attention, the album is a good soundtrack for a cruise or a party. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the songs, it's just that I miss a personal touch... something which tells me right away it's Million Dollar Reload. Rock fans who like AC/DC as much as American hard rock from the 80's should check out A Sinner's Saint.
