The progressive power metal band Mercury Rising was founded in 1991. It took five years since their last output to release their new album Upon Deaf Ears. It was worth to wait. A decent production makes songs like It's War and the title track Upon Deaf Ears make this album better then many traditional releases. The Americans combine traditional metal with prog elements and a touch of New Age which brings some fresh sound and some surprises. A nice surprise at the end of this year!
