Belfast Blues

Belfast Blues
(Blue Storm Music - 2002)

The Irish blues rocker Rab McCullough is a legend, even if his name won't ring a bell to many music fans, but he shared stages with Jimi Hendrix, John Mayhall and The Small Faces! Mr. McCullough is part of the Irish blues rock scene since the 60's, but Van Morrison, Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore are more successful and known. The mentioned Irish musicians left Ireland when The Troubles started, only Rab stayed and so his blues is inspired by his surrounding. He lives the Belfast Blues!
After a visit to Memphis he returned to the active music scene. Pete Brown (lyricist of Cream) remembered Rab from his early years and hooked him up with Dick Heckstall-Smith where Rab is now part of the backing band and already released an album with Dick.
On Belfast Blues he presents the classic Irish blues, but also reminds me of the old heroes like Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker.
Listen to Trouble, Walkin' Back To You or Mistreatin' Me. Your favorite CD store don't have it? You can order it from www.bluestormmusic.com
