Coils Of The Black Earth

Coils Of The Black Earth
(Dark Descent Records - 2012)

The band Maveth started together in 2007, and now they can launch their debut album Coils Of The Black Earth. A tough quartet from Finland has a black death metal attitude which comes face to face with their fans of brutal death metal. Their music has a tendency to fall into same path where no elegance has a place, ploughing in the same spot throughout the 10 songs in a way that it becomes boring after some time. That is a shame because they are obviously serious about what they are doing. Only diversity comes in the tempo where some songs are more speedy than others, but apart from that it is a staccato display of standard death metal where you can not pick one song to raise the level in general. Hopefully with less growls they can make a better and clearer album next time.
