Free Falling Angels
(Pure Rock Records - 2012)

A new Danish music project has been released, a band called MaryAnn Cotton with well-known artist like ex-King Diamond guys Pete Blakk, Hal Patino, Snowy Shaw and Sebastian Sly. The singer is none other than Hal Patino's son Jackie Patino. They took the name after the legendary poison killer in London, MaryAnn Cotton. I must say that Jackie Patino has talent on the vocal side, and with his father in the band, the contacts it creates, there is a solid ground for success. I hope it's not going to be a band who only lives for a short time, because with this line-up there should be no limits to what they can do. Their debut is mostly of sleaze rock and a few ballads, and they start their good journey with Heaven Sent For Me, typical sleaze rock of the best quality. Never Waste Land is also of the same make, but a little sharper and with more attitude. Get It On turns into the more melodic side of the sleaze world and harder in creative songwriting. The One gets in a rock'n'roll direction but still melodic and filled with charm. Not one song that are without character or nothing to say. I find many possibilities for MaryAnn Cotton to be successful.
