(Omega Records - 2000)

Unfortunately I have to start this CD review with a negative thing! The intro is absolutely unnecessary! But with the opening track Burning Souls they make the listener forget about the intro. With this track and with the following ten compositions (incl. the bonus track Kyrie of the Mr. Mister smash hit) the multinational band that they won't give up their position in the melodic power metal league. But not only the almost perfectly performed music catch the interest of the metal fans, also the international line-up. Singer Chitral Somapala is from Sri Lanka, drummer Jaques Voutay is from France and the rest of the band is German. The tracks on Eurasia deal with the different religions, cultures and known historical persons (e.g. Dschingis Khan...). The emotional vocals lay on the construction of melodic and partly orchestral arrangements. If necessary powerful and thrilling, mostly very melodic are the compositions on Avalons album Eurasia. Beside that guest musicians like Pietro Ramaglia add a special touch. The album was recorded at the Wolfsburg Gate Studio with producer Sascha Paeth (known for his work with bands like Rhapsody, Angra, Kamelot and Luca Turilli).
In the past Avalon shared the stages with bands like Savatage, Uriah Heep, Hammerfall and Gotthard as well as made themselves known by playing at festivals. This October they will hit the European stages together with Metalium. Another great metal package! At the tour you can make up your mind and see that Avalon not just know how to record good albums, they'll proof that they can do it live! Their melodic power metal is better than many others and also the production can compete with other big productions!
So, help them to get the attention they deserve!
