Aurvandil is a band from France who have earlier made some demos and are now putting their latest discoveries into recordings. What a debut full-length album to come out with, this is a milestone in melodic black metal where everything falls into the right place for Aurvandil. The style is about the same all way through, a powerful atmospheric tale where they use both soft guitar fiddling and the most beautiful power in their building of the songs. Very heavy rhythm that is well worked with a professional touch where End Of An Ag, and I Summon Scorn, Gylfi's Journey stands at a multi high level of modern powerful black metal. This is an album that Aurvandil can be very proud of, especially as it is their first full-length album. Great is not the word, this cd is absolutely stunning.
