Meet Your Maker

Meet Your Maker
(Dockyard 1 - 2009)

There aren't that many bands from Denmark which are well-known, but the ones who make it are usually very good. Many are presenting a mix of death metal and HC... As We Fight was founded in 2001 and is now presenting a new album called Meet Your Maker.
They start into Meet Your Maker with Blood Will Fill The Coffin, the guitarists fire heavy riffs, but also add a melodic edge to the As We Fight sound while the raspy vocals and growls add some aggression. The Danish offer 10 tracks full of aggression, groove and heavy riffs, but you can also find some melody lines. At Buried In Lies they storm off with thrashy riffs and surprise with some passages which are obviously influenced by traditional heavy metal. This track is a mix of death metal, thrash metal and a dash traditional metal. I think fans of Exodus as well as Pro-Pain might dig this one... Interlude is slowly taking you into Evil Deeds, a riff-based track with fast parts and mean vocals. And again it's the contrast between the singers - Jesper and Esben - which makes them differ. With The Condemned they have a quite catchy tune, at least after a few spins you won't forget this one! But it's still heavy, has thrashy parts and a lot of anger in it. They close the chapter with The Oncoming Chaos, another mean neckbreaker!
If you want to check out the album, give these ones a try: Meet Your Maker, Join The Killing Spree, Evil Deeds and The Condemned.
