YOSO is singer Bobby Kimball (ex-Toto) and the former Yes men Tony Kaye (keyboard) and Billy Sherwood (bass). To complete the line-up they asked guitarist Johnny Bruhns and drummer Scott Conner to join them. Musically YOSO tries to melt together the typical sound of Toto and Yes. At Elements they offer a dozen tracks plus a bonus CD with a live set of YOSO.
The band opens up with Yoso, a track which seems to be 1/2 Toto and 1/2 Yes... A catchy tune which surely will get aired. Path To The Heart is a Toto-esque tune, even if a dash of Yes can be traced. It's not just the vocals, it's the way the song is written.
Other songs have Yes touch, reminding one of 90125... On the slow, balladesque tune To Seek The Truth Billy Sherwood takes over the mic. Great song!
Songs like Only One are hybrids of Toto and Yes, exactly what one would expect. Adding guitarist Johnny Bruhns to the ranks was a good move, great guitar play!

The live album starts with Yoso, but offers a lot Toto tunes and Yes' Owner Of A Lonely Heart plus a medley of Yes songs. The live recording shows that it's a tight band who enjoys performing.
