On disc: Wulfshon
Awaiting The Ragnarök
(self-released - 2008)
With Awaiting The Ragnarök Wulfshon is releasing a promotional 2-track single. Wulfshon is an Argentine project which came to life in 2005. This is the latest work of the melodic black metal / viking metal project. The song Cosmos Generallis show Wulfshon with folk elements. The speed varies. Partly the vocals are solemn, then explode into more black metallish passages. The second song is called The Calling Of The Ancestral Blood. It starts slowly with a very melodic part, the melody line is picked up when the other instruments join in and is a like a red fathom. Some symphonic elements give this one a different feel compared to the opening track. Its the contrast between the symphonic passage and the fast black metal parts which make this one interesting. A spoken words part draws back the listener into this tune. Great idea!
It would be interesting to hear more of Wulfshon, coz the songs sound fresh, vary in speed and have trademarks from black metal, viking metal and some folk elements.
You can listen to the songs at their MySpace. I think the songs are interesting for fans of bands like Amon Amarth, Bathory (e.g. Twilight Of The Gods) and some fans of Turisas might find the Argentine interesting, too.
