Wolfpakk
(AFM Records - 2011)

What a splendid idea that Michael Voss and Mark Sweeney got to make a combined album where the experienced musicians / songwriters / producers etc. Voss and Sweeney got a large group of guest stars to perform on this album with 10 songs written by Voss and Sweeney and performed with a lot of elegance and power. They simply talked things through and started to compose songs that would be suitable for each of the participating guests stars:

Paul DiAnno, Tony Martin, Jeff Scott Soto, Rob Rock, Mark Boals, Tim Ripper Owens, Paul Shortino, Mark Fox, Michaela Schober, Jean-Marc Viller, Pearl Duncan, Molly Duncan, Igor Gianola, Andy Midgeley, Ira Black, Torsten Koehne, Doc Heyne, Tommy Denander, Nadja Kossinskaja, Freddy Scherer, Olaf Lenk, George Solonos, Tony Franklin, Mat Sinner, Matthias Rethmann, Nils Middelhauve, Barend Courbois, Alessandro Delveccio, Ferdy Doernberg, Gereon Homann.

The result is a thrilling CD with both deep, slow, but most of all sublime power metal where the absolute headliners are Dark Horizons, a very sharp guitar-driven power metal triumph. Let Me Die goes in the same path, but with a twist as they include narrative speaking á la the kind Orson Welles did for Manowar, super brilliant metal here. Wolfony closes the feast with a sublime power and melodic cream for the fans of heavy metal music. The rest of the songs follow straight behind with their various qualities in a concept that makes one think of the Hear'n Aid project Stars back in 1985. In the text sheet for this album Wolfpakk describe it as a 'must have' and I totally agree in that opinion.
