In 2009 Wizard celebrated their 20th anniversary, their album ...Of Wariwulfs And Bluotvarwes is their 9th studio album and as there are no live albums and compilations it was time to change it! With Taste Of Wizard they now have a best-of, but the compilation is a digital release and only available on platforms like iTunes, Amazon MP3, Musicload and other digital music stores.
The atmospheric intro The Witch Of The Enchanted Forest opens up the album with a spoken words before they storm off. With the second track they go back to their 2007 release Goochan, and present Pale Rider, Call To The Dragon and Children Of The Night. After Sword Of Vengeance they move on to their 2005 album Magic Circle and Utgard (False Games). And then to the 2009er Thor. But they also offer quite a few songs from ..Of Wariwulfs And Bluotvarwes. Personally I would have loved to hear some new versions of some tune from their early days, but on the other hand this digital-only release is a good way to check out Wizard's more recent stuff.
True metal fans who know only a few tracks of Wizard now get the chance to take a more in-depth look at the Germans.
