Juego Sucio

Juego Sucio
(self-released - 2008)

The Chilean hard rockers Wharenaldo are obviously inspired by Poison - at least when you look at their logo. And also the EP and song titles indicate this.
They open up with the title track Juego Sucio and head straight into the hard rock / glam rock of the 80's! Singer Roy is doing a good job, but don't has such a unique voice as Vince Neil, Jani Lane or Brett Michaels. Guitarists Keny and Fran deliver riffs and catchy guitar melodies. The opener is a bit Mötley Crüe-like... More Poison / Warrent style is Favor Sexual - a bit slower and not as riff-based as the title track. The mentioned bands had the talent to create melody lines which hook you up immediately, and that's something the Chilean lack. But their songs need more time it seems.... Btw, cool guitar solo. Very catchy and so far the highlight is Maldita Amiga which has a slight sleaze touch... More rock is Más Rock. Pub rock with some counter part vocals which makes the song stick out. A bit AC/DC-ish... Cool track!
Well, fans of hard rock / glam metal should check them out. On their website you will find a link to download the EP. They aren't as catchy as the fore runners of glam metal, but they offer some good songs. Give it a try!
