Rising Out From The Ashes

Rising Out From The Ashes
(Drakkar - 2002)

A new album from Warlord! Wow... Just that after the first spin the enthusiasm changes to being disappointed. But why? Okay, it's fact that this CD is a must for every collector of classic heavy metal!
Negative is if you take a closer look the amount of new Warlord tracks. There are not that much new stuff to listen to. The new recorded Lucifer's Hammer is known be every Warlord fan and with songs like War In Heaven, Winds Of Thor, My Name Is Man, Battle Of The Living Dead are just new versions of Lordian Guard tracks of guitarist William J. Tsamis past, but this isn't mentioned on their homepage! The other tracks of the epic tracks are impressively presented by Hammerfall singer Joacim Cans, but don't give you goose bumps like the hymns of Warlord did in the good old days when they were cult. Surely they can show their perfect interaction on Rising Out From The Ashes and the master himself can add something special, but this album isn't a classic like The Cannons....
