Death Dealer - March 29th 2010 (by email)

Aussie death thrashers Vomitor recently unleashed their latest brutal onslaught upon an unsuspecting world. I wanted to know a bit more about these underground maniacs so I sent them a few questions about beer, touring with Deströyer 666, metal, beer, Australia... and did I mention beer?

Hey guys, congratulations on the new album. Thanks for taking time out from melting faces to answer some questions!
The listening experience of Devil's Poison could be likened to being caught in an explosion at a scalpel factory. Fucking brutal! Did the album turn out as you hoped?

Glad you dig it bro, yes we aimed for a nastier and rawer sound this time, we are happy with the results.

Did it take long to record? How much beer was consumed during the recording sessions?

We recorded live in 9 hours, and spent a few days mixing and doing vocals and solos, always lots of beer consumed my friend and copious amounts of weed.

What has the reaction been like to the album so far?

Better than we expected, lots of Satans Metal Freaks still alive.

How was the recent tour with the legendary Deströyer 666?

Always great to party with our old friends, the shows we played were great, thrashing all around, death metal insanity to Planet stench, will see them again soon in Europe ARGHHH.

Do shows in Europe have a different vibe to those in Australia? Do the crowds react differently?

Years ago we played some shows in Europe, but we only had a demo out then, shows here are always great, lots of sweat and boozing and violence.

Is there any particular show that sticks out in your minds for good or bad reasons?

New years eve 1999/2000, with D666/Grenade, total madness, and mega parties, all good... No bad gigs for us yet, some people at the shows may have different opinion though hahaha, fuck 'em.

What's the next step for Vomitor? Any more shows lined up outside Australia?

May/June 2010 we are playing in Germany, Finland, England and Ireland, and later in the year North America and hopefully South America.

What's the metal scene like down under? Any other Aussie bands you would recommend?

In Brisbane we have 1-2 metal shows every week, very healthy scene, always some place to see metal and drink piss.

Which band has had the biggest influence on you as people and musicians?

Very hard to answer, anything that makes to sky dark and the gate of hell open, mid 80's Morbid Angel, Sodom, Possessed, 70's Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, early ZZ Top, Blasphemy, Sarcofago, old Sepultura and heap of old demo bands... too many to list.

Here in the UK we only really get goats piss like Fosters and Castlemaine XXXX so are there any good Aussie beers that you guys are keeping to yourselves?

You poor bastards! Hahha, you got the worst fuckin beers ever made... hahaha, stil not much better here from the big breweries, we drink mostly Belgium, Dutch or German beers, there are a lot of really small breweries in Australia that make killer beer though.

Thanks again for answering these questions. Good luck for the future and stay brutal! Anything else you would like to add?

Thanx a Heap for the support brother, may the nuns of your dreams use your face as a bus stop... Death Metal or DIEEEEE!!!!
