Material Sanctuary

Material Sanctuary
(Massacre Records - 1996)

The quartet Veni Domine offer some epic doom / power metal á la Crimson Glory and Candlemass. Majestic hymns like the opener The Meeting isn't the only thing the band can strike the listener with. Lyrically Material Sanctuary is a trip through medieval myths and sagas. Vocally Veni Domine is somewhere between David de Feis (Virgin Steele) and Geoff Tate of Queensrÿche and musically they present progressive up-tempo riffs with rhythm and harmonies. Doomy sounds with a touch of medieval. I never heard this kind of metal before and I have to confess that I missed their debut Fall Babylon Fall...
