Welcome To My World
(self-produced - 2006)

As so many bands Twilight started as a cover band back in 2001. The five guys from Buenos Aires after awhile get tired of doing cover versions. Later they demoed some of their own songs. As usual some line-up changes and now in 2006 the sextet plays there own songs which can be filed unter Melodic Speed Metal.
The first track is Katrina which shows that the Porteños try to go their own way, but there are references to bands like Helloween, Edguy and Sonata Arctica. At Katrina they show more then just melodic speed metal! With slower parts, epic choirs and some mid-tempo parts they make this song differ. The following My Beloved is an up-speed track which has elements of the Stratovarius sound... With a bit Edguy and some guitar lines which remind me of early Helloween. Not bad... The middle part slows down a bit and so gives a bit more space for the guitar solo. Singer Mariano Midletton is doing a good job. Here and there you can hear who influenced him, but he already developed his own style. The title track is the last one on this disc. A catchy tune which isn't very speedy, but with heavy guitar riffing and some nice keyboard lines to support. Soon you'll sing along and I think live this song will be a highlight... Beside playing with different national bands, they had the chance to play with Edguy in November 2006.
A very decent single of the Argentine as they offer some variety. Sure, there are reminiscences, but not too obviously. Paula and the guys recorded a solid 3-track demo which makes me interested in hearing more.
