Full Circle
(Metalville Records - 2011)

Times has been very tough for the Swedish band The Quill. They have exists 20 years, but there has been many line-up changes in the band and a bit of trouble finding the right shelf to put themselves on. Now they have found a new frontman in vocalist Magnus Arnar, and he is bringing a fresh breath into their performance, they have produced a new album with 13 great songs that are mostly inspired by 70's hard rock but also new modern sound á la Super Charger among others. Very uplifting to hear that they have not suffered a direct setback, but their energy paced album contains material like Medicine, a party metal rock song with full power at high speed, Bring It On also hits the spot straight on with smiling metal all the way. More Alive is more of the same party inspired rock, as the best song of them all is Black Star, here we get a little Oriental mystic sound with a powerful finger trigging proof of their brilliance. No Easy Way Out is a genius ballad where their experience comes to full credit for them, wonderful song that just shows The Quill are a band of many different sides in their music.
