Rewind To Fast Forward

Rewind To Fast Forward
(Copro Records - 2009)

Symphony Cult is a young band from the U.K., they started in 2008 and this is their debut Rewind To Fast Forward.
Fat distorted riffs and heavy beats lead you into the opener You - and show the musical direction. The quintet is presenting alternative rock / metal with female vocals. Charlotte Lubbock expressive and reminds me a bit of Sandra Nasic... And Amy Lee at times. With This Devastation they have a heavy rocker with a catchy hook. They can surprise you and if they would do a video for this one, they might get some attention at music TV channels... The male backing vocals build a nice counterpart to Charlotte's voice. Songs like Under The Lights doesn't offer anything new, not really bad tune, but too much like the others. With Goodbye And Goodnight they present a catchy heavy rock song with a dash melancholy. An ear catcher! The closer Until Tomorrow is in my opinion the best track of this album! It seems to show all sonic facets and even more. Charlotte is more expressive - hopefully this is what we get in future of Symphony Cult!
After a strong beginning the youngsters can't keep the quality level, but luckily towards the end they get stronger again and so it's a decent album.
