It is the German metal that rules in Europe these days, but on Stormrider's new album there is a bit to the top level other Germans have provided recently. Stormrider's third album is The Path Of Salvation, but apart from clear singing from Stefan Hebes there is not so much to find joy in on the record. Hard power metal alright, but not with the personality that the metal needs to stay into the listeners mind and make it memorable. Across The Acheron has a good metal drive and controlled vocals by Hebes, good guitar performance. Heretics is hard pumped power metal that could earn Stormrider some credit. The Sentence Divine is partly inspired by Iron Maiden, and the metal that comes from Stormrider on this occasion is rather good and hard. Circle Of Betrayers has another vision of their good powerful riffs and creative rhythms, one of the better songs on the album. I hope they shape a bit up for the future, because The Path Of Salvation is not nearly sharp enough.
