An Acoustic Skunk Anansie Live in London

British outfit Skunk Anansie was quite successful in the 90's and after 3 albums and some tours they thought it's best to call it quits at the climax of their career. Music lovers surely missed the sophisticated sound of Skunk Anansie and the charismatic front lady Skin. Luckily the foursome returned to the scene in 2010 with Wonderlustre. Black Traffic followed in 2012. There never was an official live recording, so fans who haven't had the chance to see them on tour, only got video clips and bad bootlegs. Somehow they thought it's time to change this and as Skunk Anansie always been a bit different, they recorded an acoustic set where the band got supported by string section to make their sound rich. The concert took place at Cadogan Hall, the home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Skin is dressed in an extravagant black outfit and with her voice she enchants the listener right from the start. The band picked songs from all albums including their hits, but made sure that they work well in an acoustic way. Especially Skin's vocals sound fragile and it shows once more that she is an outstanding singer. Picking one or the other song would do justice to this live document! For fans of Skunk Anansie a must-buy! And I really hope that once in awhile they do an acoustic show - not just the UK - to give people the chance to experience this outstanding band in a special way!
