Celestial Greetings
(Mystic Production - 2010)

Searching For Calm is a Polish quintet which is categorized as crossover / experimental rock - and the opener Screens documents that. Their sound is described as similar to The Mars Volta and The Dillinger Escape Plan as well as Sonic Youth. And to be honest, I'm not familiar with these bands.
The music is bulky, bass-laden - they have two bassist - and so some unusual rhythmic patters can be found. The songs aren't highly complex, but still not easy to get in. At The Fall you'll find some jazzy elements woven into their experimental rock among progressive sounds. Follow offers almost acoustic passages next to noisy guitar-driven parts. At some songs Michal Maslak's vocals are more heavily accented as others, but his vocals fit in the mix - even if sometimes a bit out of tune... A slow tune is Celestial, a laid back tune with soft vocals. Towards the end the song get heavier and again quite bulky.
Sorry guys, I think I'm not the right person to review you. I can just recommend check them out at MySpace and if you like them, then get yourself a copy.
