Rock Meets Classic

The Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken was nearly sold out. There were young fans and fans that could be my grandparents. The Reason: Rock Meets Classic. A very special tour containing the Bohemian Orchestra Prague, The RMC Band featuring Mat Sinner (Sinner, Primal Fear, Voodoo Circle) and Jimmy Kresic (Voodoo Circle) and of course three Rockstars: Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Bobby Kimball (Toto) & Dan McCafferty (Nazareth). They wanted to get the feeling of their greatest hits alive. Classical tunes and harsh riffs combined. So what do you suppose when reading this? Exactly!
The event started with an intro which was played live by the orchestra, of course. After that, Dan McCafferty entered the stage and warmed up the fans. Great job! After five tracks he left and Bobby Kimball started his set with Rosana. Hits as Africa and Hold The Line were catchy sing-alongs were the fans seemed to be louder as the whole PA. Unfortunately, I think that Bobby wasn't in his best shape, so he missed some notes. But nobody's perfect! Last, but not least it was time for Lou Gramm who started with the smasher Cold As Ice. After several hits as I Wanna Know What Love Is, it was time to leave. For one last track, they shared the stage for the very first time in live together and did a medley. After all, Bobby Kimball did an piano outro, even as the hall-lights were turned on.
All in all it was a absolutely great concert with all time hits and great musicians. The orchestra did an great job with conductor Philip Maier. Mat Sinner with band and the three entertainers seemed to had fun on stage. All I can say: Awesome!
