Forged In The Fire Of Metal

Forged In The Fire Of Metal
(Pitch Black Records - 2011)

Cyprus... Not exactly a country known for his heavy metal tradition gave us this band - R.U.S.T., sons of Manowar and any other band that made heavy metal their way of life. R.U.S.T. were born in Nicosia in early 2000 and usually they are the promoters of a festival in their native island, so it's the passion for our music that drive their lives. Forged In The Fire Of Metal is a self-product album that shows us that also in a far lands is possible find cool bands and cool music!!!

This is their first album so let's try to analyze this product in a correct way.... First of all like every debut CD, we can find some little problems like the production or some parts or intros that are not necessary, but in the global contest we can say that Forged In The Fire Of Metal will make happy metal heads that love Majesty, Manowar and this kind of stuff!! Songs like Metal Child and the title track are made to conquer your steel heart!! And also longer compositions like Lady Of The Lake and Queen Of The Amazons can easily played loud in your speakers!!!

So people let's give a chance to this guys and show 'em some respect buying this CD!!!

The debut album from the new band is ready, the Cyprus guys have made a huge effort to click their way into the sound of 80's heavy metal with everything from that period - anvils, fantastic powerful basic rhythms, heavy songs so your ears bleed in astonishment. It starts with The Thunder Rolls, a classical metal song, fine in the structure and great refrain. Metal Child is also heavy in the old fashioned way and great listening, In The Streets Of Rock'n'Roll is also great guitar work and a perfect rhythm section. Straight To The Top is good and honest metal that most people like, if they like metal music as a genre. The final song is Forged In The Fire Of Metal that gives us a soft melodic and hard sound that really hits the classical heavy metal music as it should be. It is really a great debut album, but the weak point of the whole thing is the vocalist Tasos Karonias. His voice is simply not build for singing metal songs, and it's very strange that he can be at the microphone because it gives the songs a push in the wrong direction when they are performed by a singer that is not fully up to the task. But the music is great anyway.
