Unstoppable

Unstoppable
(self-released - 2008)

From Gothenborg the Swedish youngsters Reissue try to conquer the world with their high energy hard rock. The band was founded in 2004, but it took til 2007 to get the right line-up. Soon they entered the studio to record Unstoppable and invested some money to get Andy LaRocque to master it. The result is a 7-track album with powerful, catchy hard rock tunes. The songs are catchy and soon you will start singing along. A good impression of the melodic tunes you get with the opener Evil In You, but this one will haunt you from the first spin!
With For Sure is giving you fat riffs and hard rock with a dash of 70's! Guitarists Viktor and Svante are surely influenced by bands like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, but at the some time the songs have the catchiness and the power, even the groove some late 80's / early 90's songs delivered. But their strong point is Marcus on vocals!
On Save My Soul they show a more modern variety of hard rock... Well, not modern rock, but high energy rock with heavy riffs and the raw sound of bands like Gluecifer and The Hellacopters. So the youngsters combine hard rock elements from almost 4 decades to an explosive, highly catchy sound. But they also show their soft side with Am I To Blame which is a powerful balladesque tune. And singer Marcus can handle this as well as the powerful rockers! With Highspeed Chaser they change again - slightly. The guitars put some Southern rock to the heavy groove and lead guitarist Viktor adds a short solo part. A raw up-tempo rocker shows their wild side - and reminds me of some early 80's rock -, but very cool! The rocker Wings have a slight melancholy feeling at the beginning and leads you out of the album with some sleaze-infused rock.
The album is fun to listen and shows that there are young bands on their way to rattle the throne of established hard rock acts! These guys are hot, they burn like their cover indicates. I hope that soon a label will sign them and give Reissue the chance to present themselves to a vast audience!
