In frostigen Tälern
(Spinefarm - 2001)

To be honest, I never heard about the Finnish band Lyijykomppania where Timo Rautiainen played before he started his solo project. Timo Rautiainen is known in Finland for more than two decades!
With Trio Niskalaukaus he released two CDs in Finland, both with Finnish lyrics like in the past with Lyijykomppania. Other Finnish bands try to catch attention outside Finland with albums with English lyrics, not Timo!
The current release offers musically nothing new from Timo & his lades. They still play melodic heavy rock with influences of Neil Young, Black Sabbath and also more modern metal bands. In frostigen Tälern offers tracks from their two albums. You may ask "why?" This album present the old tracks with German lyrics!
Timo proofs that heavy rock can be done with German lyrics and his lyrics transport a certain sadness. No sad love stories.... The words tell about the sad stories life creates. Nothing to sing along with or to play at parties, but a very interesting piece of music which needs your full attention!
