2 Big 2 Fail

2 Big 2 Fail
(Massacre Records - 2012)

Michael Ehre's band Love.Might.Kill had success with the first album, Brace For Impact, and quickly they follow up with a new release of 12 new songs on the album 2 Big 2 Fail. And they are not failing in any way, their hard rock / heavy metal is full of quality and a must buy for fans of melodic heavy metal. With Italian singer Jan Manenti they have the force on the vocals that are so vibrant and important with rock bands who do this mix between heavy metal and rock music. Burn The Night is one of the great songs with lots of drive and energy, hard rock and metal in one. Restless Heart is the first hard rock track on this album where the powerful voice of Jan Manenti really breaks through the wall, fantastic strength and quality in this hard rock song. The Great Escape gives Michael Ehre a chance to show what kind of drummer he is, melodic and steady rhythm and hard rock on top level. Too Big To Fail is the song the album is named after, and also the best song on the whole CD. Melodic soft rock with radio hit potential as well as heavy metal interest that will not fail in the ears of fans who want harder metal, the frame for success has been made solid from the super band Love.Might.Kill.

Brace For Impact

Brace For Impact
(Massacre Records - 2011)

Love.Might.Kill sounds like the name of an emo band but don't let the moniker fool you, this band is here to rock your socks off with good old fashioned heavy metal! Fans of Metalium and Firewind will know drummer Michael Ehré who founded this new band. Brace For Impact is the debut album.

Taking a huge helping of inspiration directly from the classics like Rainbow, Whitesnake, Dio, Saxon and so on, Love.Might.Kill is a band that certainly does not seek to reinvent the wheel. Despite the crisp, modern production Brace For Impact is an album that could have come straight from the late seventies/early eighties.

Musically, the band has talent in spades with chunky riffs and face-melting solos oozing from the fingers of the guitarists, Christian Stöver and Stefan Ellerhorst. Bassist Jogi Sweers does a great job of providing head banging low-end to proceedings whilst the aforementioned Michael Ehré gives a fantastic performance on drums. The real stand-out though is vocalist Jan Manenti whose voice lifts the songs at each turn. You even get the feeling he's holding back a little at many points throughout the album and yet he has still delivered a great performance!

This is a fantastic album. Each of the songs is a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience. In this age where many metal fans are looking back to the beginnings of metal for inspiration with many 'retro' bands surfacing Love.Might.Kill have delivered an album that has just the right mix of old and new to make a huge mark.
