Rock'n'Roll Salvation

Rock'n'Roll Salvation
(City Of Lights Records - 2018)

From Finland Liverbox are coming to bring some glam rock into the world. Their debut album Rock'n'Roll Salvation is addressed to fans of Hanoi Rocks, Faster Pussycat and L.A. Guns.

The quartet kicks off with Falling Apart, a quite typical sleaze rock tune with a good beat, heavy riffs, a sing along vocal line and big backings.

With Blackbird '72 they present a sleazy rocker with an 80's vibe. At this one everybody gets time to shine. Especially bassist Tero Nevala can step up and demonstrate his skills with a prominent bass line. One of my favourites is Sick Love, again with a prominent bass line, tight drums and a catchy lead guitar. Ilkka Järvenpää's vocals are clean, powerful and his vocal lines invite you to join in.

Let's Go! (All The Way) is a glam rocker with gang shouts, a bit like Guns'n'Roses with a dash of Ramones... At Shuffles It All it's time for guitarist King Thomás to show off his talent. Ilkka Järvenpää flavours this tune with some Axl Rose-kinda vocals.

The fast Wet And Wild sticks out a bit, but offers great guitar leads and gang shouts. Next in line Sweet Sister Of Salvation, another highlight of the album. And the closer, if you don't count the bonus track Everlasting Fire.

Even if Liverbox stick to 80's glam rock / hard rock they present a fresh sounding album and every band member gets time to shine. Fans of 80's sleaze / glam rock should check out the Finnish quartet!
