IV v 2.0

IV v 2.0
(Mortal Music - 2012)

Very small release from Ion Vein including 3 songs to make clear that Ion Vein still has the power to make decent relevant heavy metal music that gets the listeners up from the chairs. The story of the American band includes early participation in festival contributions and tribute releases for Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, King Diamond, Queensrÿche and Iron Maiden. Then they later on also made their own music on their first album Beyond Tomorrow. That is more than 10 years ago, and beyond that they also have an album out in 2003, but now it's time for their new 3-song release with the title IV v2.0 competent voluminous metal in 90's style as their inspiration clearly involves Dio and old school metal, showing directly on the first song Seemless. Here it's the hard rhythm that sets the agenda in Judas Priest and Dio inspired heavy metal that makes most old school metal fans pleased. Fools Parade is also highly competent, pushing music, heavy as a burning roach where the slow but deep vocals gives the whole thing new blood and spirits. This Is Me gives the standard metal a powerful touch with good metal attitude and signs of full return for Ion Vein. Maybe not the biggest album, but good to hear from Ion Vein.
