Suicide King

Suicide King
(Demons Run Amok Records - 2009)

Cleveland veteran hardcore outfit In Cold Blood offers a compilation of exclusive recordings from 1995, a sold-out single and some live recordings from their shows in Germany 1996. If that compilation is necessary so many years later, well... we'll see. Anyway, fans of In Cold Blood will be happy to get this stuff, even if the sound is old-fashioned, raw and muffled. So sound aestheticians won't dig it and especially the live recordings sound like recorded in their cellar. Not everybody will like this sound, but this band isn't following a trend and shows the band very authentic. Their sound is a mix of Cro-Mags, Discharge, Agnostic Front and a dash of Slayer in a wild and aggressive way. In Cold Blood offer variety including aggressive shouts and doom parts, but the vocals aren't a strong point of In Cold Blood. Shouter Bourdon Zeigler sounds one-dimensional and monotonous - and that doesn't do the songs any good. But fans of raw, authentic and non-commercial hardcore will dig this compilation. Die-hard fans of In Cold Blood will buy this one anyway, but every fan of pure old-school hardcore should check it out!
