Awhile ago I found on MySpace a young band from my area and so I contacted the guys. Btw, thanks for sending me the demo-CD! And also for answering my questions. Hope I see you soon at some concert....
As HeavenFall are quite unknown, please tell us a bit about the beginning of HeavenFall!
We are HeavenFall and we are from the area of the German town Wetter. If we have to label our music, then we would name it Power Metal. But compared to other power metal bands we differ by using synthesizers and dual vocal parts.
How did you came up with the name HeavenFall? And what does it mean to you?
Oh my God! A long story! But for us it's about strong company, friendship and fun.
It's quite unusual to work with 2 singers and not have one doing growls or grunts... How did you came up with this?
We just didn't want to do typical Power Metal, we wanted to do something unique and interesting.
Which bands have influenced you?
Too many to name...
What inspires you? Musically? Lyrically?
Mostly we get inspired somehow during the work on new material. Our lyrics are mainly about daily life and sometimes socio-critical.
At your demo When Darkness Fall are 4 tracks. Which track represents you best?
In Dark Waters and Escape - they show best our musical style.
How do you write songs? As a band? Or does someone comes up with a finished tune?
Our songs are always a band effort, coz as a band we have the best ideas.
At the moment you are mainly playing in your area. How is the reaction when you play live?
We would like to play elsewhere, so if you have some offers.... Send them over!!! ;)
Any shows planned?
Yes, there are a few. Just take a look at our homepage www.heavenfall.de to get details. The next one is at August 18th and it's the Elements Festival in Hagen which is a charity event for kids with cancer. Many bands play there and so 5 € per ticket are not too much to spend. Have you already contacted some labels? Or do you think it's too early to do?
We have contacted some labels, but at the moment our priority is to play live. So let's wait and see.
What do you expect off When Darkness Fall?
We want to make the people aware of us and we want to improve through fair critics.
What do you think about communities like MySpace? How are the reactions so far?
These days communities like MySpace are very important to get in touch with fans and also for networking.
