Raided Land

Raided Land
(AFM Records - 2013)

German outfit Human Fortress are back with an album their long-time fans should dig... Especially after 2008's Eternal Empire. Another asset is singer Gus Monsanto who adds clear, powerful vocals and shows right from the start which way Human Fortress are taking. They open up with the title track Raided Land, a catchy power metal tune. With Child Of War they stay on the chosen path. They ease off for Wasted Years, a song which sticks out due to the sacred keyboard sound, but the song has twists and turns. Check it out!

With Gladiator Of Rome Part 2 they present an epic tune with tempi changes and which shall continue the saga they started at Defenders Of The Crown - 10 years ago. As I don't know that album I can't tell you more than that.

At Dark Knight they add a Celtic touch to their mix. After Prelude they head into Pray For Salvation, a song where Gus Monsanto has the chance to shine, but the guitarists get their chance as well.

With Raided Land Human Fortress is returning to their roots. Some might miss Jioti Parcharidis, but bands go through changes and due to his vocal problems they had to look for a replacement. Even if Carsten Frank wasn't the right one, they now have a singer recruited who fits well to the sound of Human Fortress. I hope that this is just the beginning of a long time cooperation.
