Against The World

Against The World
(Point Music - 2000)

The German band was founded in the early 90's and soon released the album State Of Rock in 1993. They play hard rock in the vain of bands like Damn Yankees, Hardline, Firehouse and Trixter. Unfortunately at that time the music scene changed, they were a little too late. But the Japanese market was still interested and so they released their 2nd album Two Faced in 1994. A line-up change took place. In 1996 a track of the German AOR act been chosen by RTL (German TV station) as the title track for a world championship fight of Thorsten Mai. For the live presentation new band members had to be found. A 3rd album called Heroes was released in Japan with the new line-up. After festival appearances the album was released by AOR Heaven with some bonus tracks. Now there was interested in Frontline and so the band worked on new material. Their latest release is Against The World. The album offers 10 hard rock / AOR tracks, musically well done. Lyrically the German act deals with love & life as usual in this genre. Check out Lightning Eyes, a track which gives an idea what this is about. Okay, you can't compare this album with Damn Yankees or other big names... I miss this special touch and a 'big' production might helped... Anyway, Frontline is playing hard rock on a high level, not premier league, but who knows... Perhaps next time they will enter the premier league of hard rock... Meanwhile a good album release, so give them a chance and listen to it!
