My Life. My Rules!

My Life. My Rules!
(Hardboiled Records - 2002)

Since the release of their debut in March 2000 a few things happened to Freebase. Most can be seen positively, some negative things... But perhaps the line-up change was a change for the good... This time the band seems the be tighter, a result of the new rhythm section! With Paul and Liam Freebase got a solid rhythm section which build the playground for the guitar of Nick and Mark's vocals. Partly this is the result of the many live shows they played in the meantime. As many HC acts the UK quartet has socio-critical lyrics (Septic, Force Fed Life, S.O.S., but also they deal with other topics, e.g. Suicide Note which tries to show what a person who wants to commit suicide might think....
Beside that there are songs which talk about less serious topics. These are 12 tracks of how they call it heavy-weight metallic hardcore!

Nothing To Regret

Nothing To Regret
(Diehard - 2000)

The band was founded back in 1995 and soon got the chance to proof their abilities live in the U.K. Supporting bands like Madball, Ignite and GBH made them known to the HC fans in Great Britain. In 1997 they 5 songs and 2 of them been released at the U.K.H.C. compilation. In 1999 they signed with Diehard and started working on material for the debut. In the meantime they released a split-CD with mates Medulla Nocte. Now their debut is in the stores... Nothing To Regret. Actually the release was planned for November, but the material wasn't good enough to fullfill the high expectations of the band and company. So they tried again to recorded the songs with the same power and intensity than they have live and they made it! Nothing To Regret offers 15 hardcore tracks, groovy and aggressive, but not angry Freebase's lyrics are positive, even if they deal with difficult situations. They deal with daily life and partly they criticize the society.
