Anatomy Is Destiny

Anatomy Is Destiny
(Relapse Records - 2003)

The quartet are into modern extreme death metal and they are one of the sickest and vilest bands around. Anatomy Is Destiny is their latest release. They categorize their music as Gore Metal. This time the band is slower and heavier. Extreme death metal with screaming guitars and deep growls beside parts where the vocals remind me more of hateful black metal vocals. The title track is just an intro and with Waxwork they straight get into their gore metal. The guitars are based on classical metal, on powerful riffing and some hyperfast guitar lines. Bassist Bud Burke and drummer Col Jones build a powerful ground for the guitar attacks. Technically a great piece of work, full of aggression and hate. Under The Knife is a good example for nowadays Exhumed. In my opinion the slower, heavier songs - like on Anatomy Is Destiny - are much better then the faster ones of there previous releases... As far as I know their old material.
Nothing to complain about production-wise, coz well-known producer Neil Kernon took over the job. Kernon is known for his work with metal legend Judas Priest, Nevermore and the legendary Cannibal Corpse. Definitely a good choice.
Actually I can't tell anything about the lyrics, but they are mean enough that the album is banned in Germany! Guess they are too sick for the German controller...
I can definitely recommend this album to fans of extreme metal / gore metal. A must buy for friends of this extreme music.
