A Virgin And A Whore

A Virgin And A Whore
(Spinefarm Records - 2002)

A Virgin And A Whore is the 4th release of the Finnish quintet, but for most the second time they hear of them. All albums they recorded at the famous Tico-Tico Studios and again Mikko Karmila was responsible for the powerful mix of this album which again shows black metal parts, melodic parts, a lot of keyboards and some death metal-like growls.
A good track to check out is Prophetica which starts with a kind of keyboard intro, a strong song with a dark atmosphere, dark emotions, very intense. The band of singer and bassist Altti Vetelainen sounds more mature this time, it seems that the tour with Nightwish in fall 2000 made them grow. But Eternal Tears Of Sorrow is not just a band for black metal fans, this band is interesting also for open-minded metal heads, the growls are not as mean as in the death metal genre so check them out!

Chaotic Beauty

Chaotic Beauty
(Spinefarm Records - 2000)

The Finnishfive-piece released their 3rd album which is called Chaotic Beauty. Eternal Tears Of Sorrow play kinda thrash metal with growls or melodic death..... However you wanna call it..... The music can be compared or classified as a mixture of In Flames and Children Of Bodom..... On 3 tracks (Autuum's Grief, Bride Of The Crimson Sea & Nocturnal Strains) the five-piece got help from Kimberly Goss (Sinergy) who's voice build an interesting contrast to Alttis dark voice. Technically the band is not on the same level as CoB, but that doesn't mean that they can't play!
