Dark Rising
(Massacre Records - 2012)

Gothic metal is an interesting genre, and often the bands has female singers. Enchantya is from Portugal, and has included Rute Fevereiro to their line-up. She is not gifted with the greatest voice, but surely she can bring some new life to the songs. 13 new compositions has been released from Enchantya, where they even included techno rock and soft ballads. There is a good chemistry within the band and it shows in how they arrange the songs on the album. Clad In Black is pure heavy metal added some severe gothic spirit. Your Tattoo is one of the best songs on the album, it starts with piano and classical guitar only to develop harder and faster towards a tough and strong metal hymn, great way to build up a song. She Devil is a super gothic song with melodic structure and metal hardness very well put together. Winter Dreams supplies the soft ballad where the guitar work also gets a very strong point in this gothic hitter. Interlude Become Of Me finishes a good series of songs where romantic gothic themes goes together with hard metal. Generally Enchantya has a good melodic musical touch and songwriting talent, and if Rute Fevereiro could develop further as a singer it will be a fantastic band in the future.
