A Night In Strings

A Night In Strings
(Mrs Green Records - 2012)

Eklipse is a German string quartet whose passion is to interpret chart breakers on classical instruments. Well, the idea is similar to Apocalyptica (but they appear with three cellos!). Their interpretations and arrangements of these well known songs are quiet unique but need a lot of time to get used to it, and also very good speakers! It is no fun listening to it on notebook speakers or something else. I am very surprised that this record still does have a dynamic range! Honestly, there are some sound engineers out there who would compress even this kind of music. Well done! The songs I really like on this record are the following: Wonderful Life, In The End, Paparazzi. I was very amused that the Lady Gaga arrangement is my fave. ;-)

For fans of Apocalyptica, Nightwish and classical stuff, check them out!

Track list:

Wonderful Life (Hurts)
In The End (Linkin Park)
New Moon-Theme (Theme 'Twilight – Eclipse-New Moon')
Home (Depeche Mode)
Cry Me A River (Justin Timberlake)
Cloudbusting (Kate Bush)
Paparazzi (Lady Gaga)
Run (Snow Patrol)
Mumbai-Theme (Theme 'Bombay')
Clocks (Coldplay)
