With their 4th album the Spanish band Easy Rider might catch the attention of more metal fans, coz after line-up changes their sound changed as well. Singer Eugenio Garaneda left during the tour in fall 2000 and drummer Antonio M. Chaves left for personal reasons a little later and it took the three remaining members to find new partners in crime. Singer Ron Finn (ex-Mace) got interested and finally got the job, a good decision. Thanks to Chris Caffery (Savatage) who heard about the vacant position and called his friend Ron.
The band's sound changed, not drastically, coz the songwriters are still the same, but Ron Finn has a stronger voice and larger vocal range. The Spanish-American quintet is still presenting progressive power metal tracks which have a touch of the American metal we all knew from the late 80's. And so this album is interesting to many metal fans, but due to their origin they might not get the attention they deserve!
A track like Nightmare shows best what to expect, coz it's heavy, complex, catchy and powerful. On the powerful ballad Freedom Fighter the quintet got a helping hand from Patrick Rondat (Elegy, Consortium Project) who added a guitar solo which make this track special.
Other tracks to check out: Regeneration, No Room In Hell and Stranger which they re-recorded.
