Desalmado is a Brazilian grindcore band which is now presenting their mini album Hereditas. Desalmado offer 6 songs - and an intro which I wouldn't have missed - and the tracks have quite a punk feel. They are pushing hard, offer rapid-fire riffing and brutal blast beat attacks. Here and there they add some complex groove parts and so add some variety to the rapid-fire riffing, aggressiveness and sonic rage. No chance to take a deep breath, they go full force. On top they add growls and screams, unfortunately this change of vocal styles don't really give a chance to get what they have to say in their mother tongue. And so the exotic edge gets lost, too. Anyway, songs like Condenados Pelo Òdio, Chagas Abertas and Manto De Sangue are true gems for grindcore fans. Okay, they don't offer anything new, they sound a bit like old Napalm Death, but this mini album is fun, just way too short! Only a quarter of an hour isn't enough to please me!
