(MDD Label - 2011)

Delta Cepheid has been a project band for various death metal ideas by the vocalist Jürgen Naumann, but suddenly the band wants to go full time with recordings and a more steady course. It has resulted in this new CD that the constellation Delta Cepheid makes their debut with. It's a very complex story where the songs are built up with more than one theme in them. They start with brutality, intense growling, guitar sound that reminds of torture, but mid-term in the compositions there are soft well-played solos and themes with lots of elegance. One song is all instrumental, Intermission, and the song A Ruinations Path is fast and confusing but again in the middle of the song everything changes and becomes methodical, soft and friendly. The main song on this debut is the title track Entity. There are the most brutal drums, but the guitar work is fantastic, just figure that a dedicated death metal project would come up with elegant and melodic fantasy-metal almost resemble to Dark Moor, just more brutal and complex.
It would be interesting to see what the future brings for the German band, to see in what way they develop.
