Royal Straight Flesh

Royal Straight Flesh
(Regain Records - 2002)

The first decade of the Swedish trio is over and after 4 full-length albums and 2 mini-CDs they are back with Royal Straight Flesh.
Even if drummer Matte Modin is also working with Non-Exist, The Hidden and is a member of Dark Funeral / Illdisposed and singer / bassist Gustaf Jorde is a member of Dark Funeral / Illdisposed this isn't a side-project.
Musically the three-some offers death / black metal with breaks and a variety which other genre bands are lack off. Fast, but not hyperfast the trio is going through the 10 tracks of the album. Uncompromising metal, partly with mean sounding vocals. The powerful production / mastering is done by Daniel Bergstrand at the Dug-Out Studio. Bergstrand is known for his work with In Flames, Meshuggah and Strapping Young Lad.
The guys toured with In Flames, Borknagar and Cannibal Corpse in the past and so they aren't nobodies to many death metal fans. If you don't know them, check out the title track and Friction or Hand Over Fist.
