Remaining Tales

Remaining Tales
(Self-produced - 2001)

If you don't know Defender you might ask, why this Dutch band is releasing an album with material which was recorded back in the 80's. Well, the band answers this question in the information sheet. Their explanation is that this kind of music is popular again and that Remaining Tales aren't an old album of the band. No, this is a collection of their 1984 released demo Tales Of The Unexpected, the CD City Ad Mortis and the single release Journey To The Unexpected. But is Defender really good enough that this release is necessary? Well, let me listen...
Defender are playing melodic trash metal with breaks and tempo changes and with a nostalgic touch. Another positive aspect is the voice of singer Simon Menting who has a pleasant voice which fits excellent to the bands sound. Highlights on Remaining Tales are The Journey, In The Beginning and the bands hymn Defender. The sound is good, even if their sound is backdated... What more can you ask for?!?!
A nice collectors item, so get in touch with:
