Let Go

Let Go
(self-released - 2010)

December Peals are a German rock band who played live a lot. Musically the quintet is offering powerful rock which reminds me a bit of Donots, at least this gives you an idea, if you don't know them yet. Fans of e.g. The Donnas and Beatsteaks probably experienced them live.
The track Let Go kicks off with organ, then heavy riffs, next singer Andi joins in and the song becomes a powerful rocker with a melancholy edge. The EP also offers a previously unreleased track called Talk To The Hand which is an up-tempo rocker which reminds me a little bit of the Beatsteaks, but they also have some bluesy part embedded and so show a different facet. Hypoxia fans of December Peals will know, but this alternate version wasn't released before. As I don't know the original I can't compare the versions. This one has a Southern rock touch with it's acoustic guitars, but later the song becomes a powerful country rocker.
The closer is the heavy Prisoner with it's 70's Hammond sound, but there are more reminiscences. But best advise, don't think about it and just enjoy it!
The digi-pack EP is strictly limited to 100 and hand numbered! You can order it via the bands website. Or you check out the e-card and if you invite 5 friends by email, you will get an email with a download link. So, you can get the music for free!
