Many things has happened to the German goth metal band in the last 5 years, but unfortunately the unsuccessful things are dominating. They have introduced a replacement to former singer Stefan Hertrich, now it is Harald Winkler who touches the microphone. Also Darkseed have a new bass player in Michael Behnke (formerly of Eisbrecher). Their Ultimate Darkness album from 2005 was the most unique album from their hands so far, and now they recorded their new piece Poison Awaits in their new studio (still distributed by Massacre Records). 5 years has only meant that Darkseed have moved away from their roots and are now acting like a mainstream pop band. These new songs still proves that the music feeling is intact, but the content of the songs are dark dance music, industrial pop, disco, slow dark whispers, everything spiced up with a polished evil touch. Disappointing album, because they could do a lot better than this output.
