- Crimson Glory, Kamelot & Evergrey -
- April, 23rd 2000 -
- Pratteln (Switzerland), Z7 -

On Easter Sunday I went down to Pratteln which is close to Basel to see the package at Pratteln's Z7. The last time for me to visit them on this tour, but Evergrey and Crimson Glory will play at the Bang-Your-Head festival in Balingen, so I'll see them there again!
Unfortunately just about 200 metal fans showed up, but I heard that Jag Panzer played here in front of just 4 fans! So it seems that the guys been lucky...
Evergrey live in PrattelnAgain the power metal band from Sweden opened and today Tom's voice was better. Tom and his fellows play a really good show and made a few more fans, I guess. Personally Nosferatu was the highlight of their show, but also songs like Solitude Within and A Shattered Me were more intense live. So I thought about doing a little interview with the Swedish later, I I'll get the chance.
Kamelot live in PrattelnThe it was time for Kamelot! Actually the band wanted to play the same songs they played in Bochum. After the first song it was obvious for me that Roy suffered a cold and had problems to sing, but the audience hadn't a clue. So the band rocked the house, but had to cut down the set list down to about 45 min. Khan gave his best and the fans who haven't seen him as often as I did, hadn't any idea. Again the priority was to present the songs of the latest release The Fourth Legacy. Hopefully they'll return soon and offer a headlining show where they can play more old tunes as well as new stuff! Then the band came on stage after the March Of Glory.Crimson Glory: Wade Black live 2000 Today Crimson Glory seemed to start their fight to conquer the metal fans of the world! And the audience seemed to appreciate it, even if a few fans left after Kamelot's show. It was the 3rd time I saw the guys and the best show so far. A more energetic show than the ones before. Perhaps the metal fans shall give them a chance and listen to the album a few more times, probably they'll get used to Wade's style... I definitely got used to it and even if I prefer songs like Touch Of Sun, I now like the other songs. So come on, don't compare 'Midnight' and Wade. Give them a chance! Watch'em at the Bang-Your-Head festival in Balingen!

- Crimson Glory, Kamelot & Evergrey -
- April, 17rd 2000 -
- Bochum (Germany), Zeche -

At a Monday night the package played at Bochum's Zeche. Today Evergrey took their chance, but I missed part of their set. It was still obvious that Tom Englund had problems with his voice. The Swedish presented a 30 min. long set of songs from Solitude * Dominance* Tragedy. Tonight I hadn't the chance to see the whole set, but what I saw was very good and the fans in the first row banged. When the quartet left the fans been satisfied.
Kamelot liveA little later Kamelot entered the stage. Until Kingdom Come was the opener again. Soon the quintet rocked the house. On the bigger stage the five-piece had more space to move and it seems that they really enjoyed it. Again the show was recorded for a live album, beside that the band taped the show on video, but just for themselves to work on their stage-acting. Songs like Expedition and Inquisitor been again part of the set. The audience seems to love them and the ballad A Sailorman's Hymn was one of the highlights. I missed Kings Eyes, but they hadn't enough time to play all their songs. Drummer Casey Grillo's excellent drumming build the basic for bassist Glen Barry and mainman Thom Youngblood. An old saying is "Time is flying, if you have fun" and it was fun and much too soon the show been over!
Crimson Glory liveAnother break and the legendary Crimson Glory entered the stage. Unfortunately many fans left after the Kamelot show and it was tough to conquer the audience. Ben Jackson and Jon Drenning offered brilliant guitar duels, but without the rhythm section building a solid playground, both guitarist hadn't the chance to show their talent. Again it seems that Crimson Glory couldn't satisfy the audience at all. Fans expected the old stuff, but Jon and his mates played songs of their current album incl. Touch The Sun and Edge Of Forever. The ones who still were there to watch the show seems to like this kind of tunes most. Perhaps singer Wade Black should sing more songs in the middle range of his voice.... Anyway, the Floridian guys gave their best, even if many seems not to appreciate it and still were looking at the past of the band....

- Crimson Glory, Kamelot & Evergrey -
- April, 15th 2000 -
- Vosselaar (Belgium), Biebob -

Saturday late afternoon I arrived at the Biebob. As usual the first fans waited for doors open. It was the 5th show at this tour. Due to Bob's promotion the club was crowded and many fans waited for Evergrey! But singer Tom S. Englund caught a cold and was unable to perform. When show time was there, the band entered the stage and Tom talked to the people and explained the situation. Everyone could hear his voice problems. A few fans came just to see the Swedish and so they offered this fans to talk to them in the break or after the show. They promised to the ones who came just for Evergrey and who are willing to come to Bochum on Monday to put them on the guest list!
Kamelot liveSo Kamelot played tonight's first set and due to the fact that Evergrey haven't played the Florida based band had a little more time... Thom Youngblood and his mates started with Until Kingdom Come from their latest release The Fourth Legacy. I saw Kamelot in 1998 when they did a co-headliner tour with the Dutch Elegy. At that time the band had to grow together as a band due to the line-up changes they went through. Now they are a rockin' union! The quartet from Tampa got a helping hand at the keyboards by Vanden Plas' Günter Werno. Kamelot and especially singer Roy Khan made the audience rocking and singing. During the set Roy told the crowd that Kamelot record a live album at this tour and heat up the fans! In their 75 min. long set they played songs like The Shadows Of Uther, Alexandria, Kings Eyes and Millenium. Silent Goddess was usually not included, but was played during the extended set. The encore was Desert Reign and Nights Of Arabia and as a kind of bonus Eternity. A successful night for Kamelot...
Crimson Glory liveAfter a short break the legendary Crimson Glory entered the stage. When the March Of Glory started many fans didn't know what to expect. The first releases of Jon Drenning's band are masterpieces and their latest release Astronomica is a quite good album, but don't have the same high quality level. Shouter Wade Black is different to 'Midnight' and some fans been disappointed, even if Wade did a good job. Everybody in the band gave his best, but couldn't convince all fans... Most songs are from Astronomica like New World Machine and Lucifer's Hammer. Also Crimson Glory hired a keyboarder for the tour, another German and well known... Ferdy Doernberg. During the set it become clear that the fans don't like Wade's high voice and scream. For me and for many others songs like Edge Of Forever and Touch The Sun been the highlights. After 90 min. the Florida guys left.
