Crash The System is a project of Mind Eye's Daniel Flores and Sören Kronqvist for their debut The Crowning they hooked up with a couple of singer - Göran Edman, Mats Levén, Thomas Vikström and Björn Jansson. Musically they offer some hard rock / AOR tunes.
The opener is called Fight Fire With Fire, a keyboard-based hard rock tune. As keyboarder Sören Kronqvist writes the songs it's no surprise that the keys quite prominent... The guitars can hardly stand up against the bombastic keys. Actually I think that more guitars would add some heaviness... A track like All Because Of You fans of Winger and partly House Of Lords should dig... Lyrically a song like I Still Believe In Love is a bit shallow or in case of Love Is In Your Eyes a bit too cheesy. With Enough Of Your Lovin' they do better, but still the guitars are steam rolled by the keyboard. The song reminds me of another band, but I can't fathom it... It also has a dash of Damn Yankees in it... A nice guitar solo is added, but too soon the guitar is lost in the keys again. After the pop rocker Rolling Stone it gets more symphonic, but with a modern touch at Don't Tell Me No Lies.
Crash The System offer hard rock tune which somehow sound familiar... Nothing new, but well done and with outstanding singer like the ones involved in The Crowning you can't go wrong. I guess in the early 90's they would have had a chance to get media attention, but these days they will only be interesting for fans who still love the releases of that days. And if you like guitar-based tunes, then check out Crash The System first, coz the guitars are a bit too much in the background... But that's a matter of taste.
