This is the 2nd release of Cornerstone, it's called Human Stain. Again the mainmen Steen Mogensen (bassist of Royal Hunt) and Doughie White (ex-Rainbow singer) wrote some classical and timeless hard rock songs in the vain of Rainbow, Deep Purple and Dio. The debut album got good media reactions which proofed them right to go this musical direction. After the release of the debut former Royal Hunt drummer Alan Sorensen joint the band. For Human Stain they could recruit guitarist Kaspar Damgaard who is now a member of Cornerstone. Songs like Some People Fly, Midnight in Tokyo, Singing Alone and The House Of Nevermore show the different sides of them, the balladesque one as well as the more rocking one. It's a pity that this kind of music didn't get more attention, this is hard rock on the highest level. Sail On Stormy Waters is reminding me a little bit of Whitesnake... Cornerstone show that it's possible to write intelligent lyrics for hard rock tunes and it's worth to listen to Doughie White's words. A great piece of music! Hope to see them live one day!
